Northeast Ohio Spring Break Activities

Punxsutawney Phil may have said we have six more weeks of winter but we all know how fast time flies! We’re mentally getting ready for warmer temperatures and Spring to finally come around the corner. Fresh blooms, green on the trees the whole package! While some of us may be able to go away somewhere tropical on spring break some of us are able to stay home and enjoy a week off from school and work to spend outside. Being in Northeast Ohio though, you never know what kind of weather you’re going to get. It might be rainy and cold every day or we could get lucky and have it sunshining 24/7! You just never know …

If you’re lucky to enjoy Ohio at home for a week and need to stretch your legs and get some fresh air after being cooped up inside all winter, we have some great ideas to get you and your family active!

  1. We are so lucky to live in Northeast Ohio with all of our beautiful National Parks! Check out all the nearby trails and get walking, running or biking!
  2. Visit your local community recreation center and go swimming. Swimming is a great way to get some exercise and has overall health benefits for everyone.
  3. Both the Cleveland Zoo and Akron Zoo are incredible! There’s always something new to find at the zoo so take a day and dedicate the walk around the animals for some educational and health benefits.
  4. Kick the ball around, throw the frisbee in the backyard!
  5. It’s never too soon to get your garden started. Have the kiddos help you prep the garden and take a trip to the local floral nursery to find some new flowers to get started.

We know we will be walking the trails at different parks as well as the Zoo! What will you and your kids be doing this spring break to get active? Let us know, we’d love to hear your spring break activities!
